According to some experiments and tests with our cotton yarn, the best solution is to hand wash the items, by soaking them in a solution of water and neutral soap, without scrubbing.
Squeeze to remove excess water and dirt and rinse under running water.
Drying should be done outdoors, in the shade, to avoid the risk of staining.
Something you should always take into account is that an item made of cotton yarn, after coming into contact with water, may tend to shrink a little, which is a normal consequence of the natural fiber itself when in contact with water.
I only want to clean a small stain on the item. How do I do it?
In this case, the most recommended way is to gently brush the dirty part(s) with neutral soap for a few minutes using a soft-bristled brush. After brushing, put the item in the washing machine on the shortest cycle, cold temperature. As soon as it finishes, the item may be slightly deformed. Reshape it manually, and place it in the shade to dry, thus avoiding the risk of staining in the sun.
