How it all began

Navita, whose name means "sailor" in Latin, was born out of a passion for nautical activities, a family heritage passed down through generations through the production of essential materials—ropes and threads—for various purposes in this field.

Born from its parent company and factory producing threads, lines, and ropes in Portugal, it was founded by the same family and began in the market selling rope fashion accessories with nautical inspiration, the famous nautical bracelets. They quickly differentiated themselves in the market due to the diversity and quality associated, as all products are self-produced, from the rope itself to the manual assembly of the accessory.

At NAVITA, during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown, we realized the extent to which Macramé art, DIY, and rope crafts were growing, and the increasing need and demand for the product we manufactured from our parent factory. We had to adapt quickly, expanding the brand's concept, dividing it into two business segments, defining the Accessories line, and creating the Home line.

The Story of Navita Home

To talk about 2020 is inevitably to talk about a particularly difficult year for everyone.

However, it didn't just bring personal and professional challenges caused by the pandemic. We learned to value what is ours more, to cultivate a spirit of mutual help, and to contribute to the planet's sustainability. Many resumed old hobbies, developed new skills, and were surprised by the work of their own hands. Others were able to reinvent themselves. And this is where we come in, including our customers, friends, family, and strangers.

Navita Home emerges as a new segment of the NAVITA brand. This new line caters not only to those passionate about the timeless fashion of knots and ropes but especially to those who, like us, enjoy seeing the work of their own hands. Thus, from our own production, threads and ropes are born, made from various materials, in the most diverse colors, types, and sizes, highly sought after by DIY, Macramé, and manual rope craft lovers.

It's truly accurate when we say we feel a deep connection to the artisan mindset. Although our product is machine-produced, behind them are people who first idealize and meticulously design each thread, ensuring it reflects this care and makes you think, "This is exactly what I was looking for!". As a family business, we live by the motto of giving others what we would want for ourselves. This is the only way we know how to work, the only way we feel fulfilled.

Inspiration for the Accessories line

Our main inspirations are the sea and everything around it, the peculiar sailor's knots, used today in industry, fishing, and sports, in rope tying, and the nautical style, a distinct fashion style that we have always identified with. Above all, we are inspired by our family legacy, and all the care and dedication invested in the work of our hands.

The brand was born from our main characteristics as founders: talent, vision, creativity, and effort, based on the family allusion that nautical elements, such as the anchor and the knot, represent.
